School Activities
In keeping with IMPAC’s educational philosophy, cross-cultural awareness and understanding are emphasized through activities and outings. Activities are posted on the bulletin board notifying students about upcoming outings, activities and events.
While the school is committed to doing its best to arrange enjoyable and safe activities, the student must accept full responsibility should an accident occur while the student is participating in an activity.
School Field Trips
IMPAC offers two field trips each term to promote more multicultural understanding through cultural activities.
One field trip is held at IMPAC and the other field trip is outside of classroom.
Perfect Attendance Award
IMPAC recognizes students committed to hard work and coming to school every day. Therefore, at the end of each term, students who have perfect attendance are awarded with a Certificate of Achievement and a gift.
Participant Satisfaction: Evaluations and the Free Flow of Information
In addition to our Student-Teacher Consultation offered at least twice a term to monitor individual academic progress, IMPAC conducts the following evaluations to evaluate student satisfaction during and at the end of each term in order to maintain the two-way free flow of information that is an integral part of our mission statement.
1. School Evaluation (twice a term): Gathers information about the opinions of students regarding the school, its activities and other student services.
2. Course/Teacher Evaluation (twice a term): Gives students an opportunity to express their opinions about individual classes and teachers. Both positive and negative comments are welcome.
3. Open communication: Part of IMPAC’S open door policy. Formal and informal conferences are available to students with their instructors as well as with all members of the administration. Formal student consultation hours are scheduled at least two times each term.
4. Sponsor’s evaluation (when requested from Special Program): Receives Program Evaluation Form from Sponsor within 30 days after the program ends.
Academic Counseling
Generally speaking, the Director and administrative staff are available to enhance the academic, personal and professional development of students. Teachers are available for consultation with students as their academic advisor. Academic consultations for students are held each term. Students may arrange a meeting with their advisor at any time that is mutually convenient.
IMPAC also offers placement assistance for those students wishing to attend higher institutions. Students should see Director of Studies for more information. Here are some of the institutions of higher learning located on Oahu:
