General Admission Requirement
Admission to IMPAC is open to anyone who:
  • • Is at least 18 years or older*
  • • Is a non-native English speaker**
  • • Completes the application form, pays tuition and fees and provides the appropriate immigration documentation when applicable.
  • • Agrees to follow IMPAC policy, is respectful of others and conducts themselves in an agreeable manner.

* We can accept younger students (17 years old) with parents' consent for IECP program
**In case your English level does not meet the lowest proficiency level offered at the time of enrollment, you must be willing to take additional tutoring offered if we can arrange it. In some cases, a proficiency level may not be offered due to low student enrollment.
Additional Admissions Requirement for F-1 Students
For transfer students
All transfer-in students must be in “status” in SEVIS to be accepted at IMPAC.
• If you completed/or were enrolled in a degree program in the U.S. you are not eligible to apply to our program. However, you can apply to our program if you are/were enrolled in a degree program but your current/last attended school recommends that you take English-language training. You must submit a letter of recommendation from your school.
For returning (former IMPAC) students
• You must not have completed the Advanced level at IMPAC.
• You must not have completed 3 years of study at IMPAC.
• You must not have had poor attendance during your last enrollment.
• You must not have had any financial obligation during your last enrollment.

If you are traveling outside the U.S. before the course start date, you must inform the Admissions Office to arrange for the I-20 to be issued on time.
Age Requirements
Minimum age requirements depend on the program(s) in which the applicant wishes to enroll. For IEPP, the applicant must be at least 18 years old. For IECP, if the applicant is under the age of eighteen (18) years, the application must be co-signed by his/her parent or legal guardian.

Applicant younger than 17 years old may be admitted on case by case (usually during the school vacation time).
Academic Requirements
    College or University experience (in English instruction)
    • If you are applying for IEPP, you must not have previously completed or enrolled in any college or university level English courses in the United States, except in cases when the enrolled institution recommends English training.
    Minimum English proficiency:
    • You must place in at least the Beginner Level (or the lowest level offered at that time of enrollment) in order to begin a regular course of study in the IEPP Program at IMPAC.
    • If you do not meet the minimum requirement proficiency level, you must be willing to take tutoring lessons if we can arrange the class for you. If you are taking the tutoring lessons, you must retake the Placement Exam or the Achievement Test of the tutored level and achieve an adequate score. In case tutoring lessons are not offered, you may be asked to transfer out to another school.
    Placement test and exit quiz:
    • IEPP students must undergo both a placement interview and take a placement test upon arrival at the school. All IECP students must take a written placement test and interview before the first day of enrollment and are required to submit coursework and take a weekly test.
